Monday or Tuesday best for air fares
Plan your bookings strategically to make use of discounts
Travelers who go online on Mondays or Tuesdays to book tickets for flights from France will get cheaper fares than on any other day of the week. Bookings on a Saturday or Sunday are the most expensive.
Previous advice to fly on Tuesdays and not the weekend has been turned on its head in a new study by Skyscanner for Connexion which found the cheapest day to fly out from France is a Friday, with Sunday costing the most.
The fare comparison site checked data from 2016 and 2017 for departures from all airports in France to come up with the findings. Research also showed that the cheapest month to fly was January, followed by February and then November.
Buying tickets 22-24 weeks in advance will see fares averaging 17% cheaper, but paradoxically, Paris-London flights were 74% dearer when booked 21 weeks in advance as sales opened.
