More mobile bills in the thousands

TWO more Orange customers have complained of mobile internet bills in the tens of thousands of euros.

The mobile giant, which is owned by France Telecom, is investigating the huge bills which are all linked to its "unlimited" 3G internet package.

Earlier this week a man living in the Nord spoke out about a €46,000 bill for a month of web use. It is thought his modem accidentally connected to the Belgian network instead of the French one.

A doctor in the same of town of Valenciennes, near the Belgian border, has also been hit with a big bill - for €159,212.

A third case, with a bill for €39,500, involves an insurance company director in Nantes. He has admitted using his mobile internet connection while working in Spain, but argues that Orange should have warned him that his usage was adding up to a huge bill.

Mobile operators charge huge fees for "data roaming" - connecting to the internet using a foreign mobile network.
