New direct New York-Nice flight announced
American Airlines will operate the daily service from May 2027

Travellers flying to and from the US will get a new link with France as Nice’s Côte d’Azur Airport is set to add a new daily direct service to New York JFK.
The new route is scheduled to begin on May 6, 2027 and will be operated by American Airlines.
The route complements another direct route already operating between Nice and Philadelphia.
The new flight will bring the number of long-haul flights from Nice to North America to 10, including four direct connections with New York.
“The launch of this new route between Nice and New York (JFK) by American Airlines is not only a sign of the growing attractiveness of the North American market for the Côte d’Azur, but also of the airline’s renewed confidence, as it has already operated a route between Nice and Philadelphia since 2024,” Franck Goldnadel, chairman of the Côte d’Azur Airports executive board said in a press release.
“More than ever, our mission is to connect our region directly and sustainably with the world’s major capitals,” he added.
The new New York service will have 155 seats and will be operated by an Airbus A321XLR. American Airlines introduced the aircraft into its fleet in summer 2026 and is the first US airline to operate the model.
“Since we launched our first service to Nice in 2024, customer feedback has been extremely positive. By adding a second flight to the Côte d’Azur, we are offering even more opportunities for those much-anticipated summer getaways,” José A. Freig, American Airlines’ vice-president for international operations and commercial partnerships, said.
The A321XLR used on the route will have 20 flagship suite seats, 12 premium economy seats and 123 seats in the main cabin.
Passengers will also have access to high-speed Wi-Fi and free in-seat entertainment, including Bluetooth connectivity.
The new service comes as the number of direct flights between France and the US continues to grow. United Airlines has also announced new routes from Washington to Toulouse, New York/Newark to Marseille and Denver to Paris for 2027, while Delta Air Lines is launching a direct Austin-Paris service.
