Nice: most scenic landing in Europe
Côte d'Azur flight path is the third most beautiful in the world in poll of travellers
NICE has been voted the most scenic airport in Europe to land in, in a global survey of travellers.
The Côte d'Azur flight path had been voted best in the world in the last survey but has dropped to third place behind Queenstown in New Zealand and Las Vegas.
PrivateFly, a global booking platform for private jet charters, asked 3,000 frequent flyers for their favourite views and received nominations for 147 airports around the world.
Chief executive Adam Twidell said: "Landing on the Côte d'Azur offers a beautiful combination of blue sea and skies and the mountains in the background. That's what makes the airport unique."
Some 11.6 million passengers passed through Nice airport last year - and it is a busy few weeks for the Côte d'Azur base with the Cannes film festival followed by the Monaco grand prix.
