No newspapers on sale this morning
Distribution workers prevent national daily papers from reaching newsagents - but The Connexion is unaffected
THERE are no national daily newspapers on sale in French newsagents and kiosks today, because of a strike by distributors.
Workers belonging to the Syndicat Général du Livre et de la Communication have blockaded depots around the country and are planning to stay there until midday tomorrow.
They are protesting against proposed organisational changes at SPPS, the group in charge of newspaper and magazine distribution in Paris.
Magazines have been missing from many kiosks in the capital for the past fortnight following a series of blockades and attacks on depots.
The Connexion is unaffected by the strike and our December issue remains on sale in newsagents around France. Find your nearest stockist here.
This Thursday, December 16, is the cut-off date for subscribers who wish to start receiving the paper with the January issue.
Subscriptions start at €30 a year for a French address.
