Orange confirms free calls day

Free calls and texts for a day in September come after the Orange network crashed for 12 hours on July 6

ORANGE mobile phone customers in France are to be offered a day of free use next month to apologise for a massive network crash that affected 30 million customers.

The day of free calls and texts within France will be between September 3 and 10, depending on your package, and details should be sent by text message.

The Orange network was down for 12 hours on July 6 and also affected customers of Free Mobile and Virgin.

For pay-as-you-go customers, the free day will September 7, and for business customers it is September 10.

Orange estimates that the compensation package will cost the business between €30 and €40million.
