Pay what you want at Paris hotels
Five three- and four-star hotels in capital are running a scheme in which guests can set their own rates for their stays
FIVE Paris hotel owners have decided to allow guests to pay what they want for staying at their establishments.
In a real-life version of the Channel 4 reality series Four in a Bed, or Bienvenue Chez Nous as the French version on TF1 is known, the quintet of three- and four-star hotels in the ninth and 11th arrondissements, have reserved a few rooms each for guests who book their stays via the specially set-up www.payezcequevousvoulez.net/ website.
Those who book their rooms via the site will be able to set their own rates for their stays.
If successful, the scheme - which initially runs until August 10 - may be extended.
Bosses at the five hotels - l'Hôtel Plaza Opéra, La Villa Bohème, l'Hôtel Tour d'Auvergne, Grand Hôtel Français and L’Hôtel Villa Opéra Lamartine - say they are confident that guests will pay a fair price.
