Queues longer than flights
I never cease to be amazed at the efficiency and extraordinary low fares that so many of us enjoy. But too often (at least at Lyon or Grenoble) passport scrutiny on arrival can take almost as long as the flight time.
Having spent one hour in the queue at Grenoble, and watched our plane depart on its return to Stansted, it seems that the ‘jet age’ has rather taken the French police by surprise.
A tired policewoman and her colleague typing passport details of each passenger, while the rest of the airport staff wait to shut shop and go home, is pathetic. The car parking costs more than flying so surely a few more police would be affordable?
