Registering to vote in France
Any EU citizen resident in France can register free to take part in local and European elections
CAN French-resident Britons vote in mayoral elections and, if so, how do you register? B.R.
Any EU citizen resident in France can register free to take part in local and European elections (in the latter case you have the choice to vote in the UK or in France, but not in both).
You are registered not on the main electoral register, but on one of two listes électorales complémentaires (complementary electoral lists).
You do this at your mairie with your passport and proof of residence.
You need to fill out a form, which you can obtain from the mairie (there are separate ones for the two different election kinds).
The next municipal and european elections are both in 2014.
