Rising level of water price
Water in France, where you pay more for sewerage than drinking water... In fact the money they charge you (which increases ridiculously every year) for two people, costs
on average €800 per annum.
In our case it has gone from €200 in 2008 to: 2009 – €195, 2010 – €188 (when we were living here), 2011 was €200 again, then suddenly in 2012 it shot up to €737, 2013 dropped to €568, 2014 – €500, 2015 – €815, 2016 – €793, and 2017 – €755.
We think we are being forced into paying exorbitant water fees so the commune (mayor) can look good.*
Love to have this published and get some feedback from others living in France.
Dawn Beautement, Aude
* [From 2012 to 2017 Dawn’s water bill rose 377% with the costs for sewerage and public use exceeding the water cost, rising from 43% to 59%].
