Ryanair cancels 80% flights
Ryanair is cancelling 80% of its flights from March 24, the company has announced.
Only a small number of flights between the UK and Ireland will operate.
The airline is contacting affected customers. If your flight is cancelled, you can rebook tickets for free or be refunded. Customers are advised to follow local guidelines issued by the government and not to call for assistance as Ryanair call centres are overloaded.
Ryanair has already reduced its number of flights due to the lockdown in countries such as Italy and Spain.
EasyJet has opened its winter schedule to travel up until February 2021, following the confinement order in France, and says passengers can amend an existing booking for free on its website.
The winter schedule will open tomorrow, March 19. It will be possible to change the date and destination of your flight.
The company says they also have a dedicated customer service number to help those who want to change their tickets. The number is 0330 365 5030.
So far, the company had already cancelled all flights to Italy and reduced flights in Europe.
British Airways has also reduced its number of flights due to the restrictions. It says it is following the situation day by day and will adapt as necessary.
Customers can change their destination and travel date for free, for all new bookings made between March 3 and May 31, 2020, as well as for all bookings scheduled to depart until May 31, 2020.
Air France is reducing the number of flights by 90% for the next two months. If your flight is cancelled, you will be refunded.
If you bought a ticket before May 31, 2020, and wish to cancel your flight, you can complete the form on Air France website here and get a voucher valid for a year on all Air France, KLM, Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic flights. You can also change your departure date for free on the website.
