Six killed in two road accidents
Three children die instantly in crashes as police arrest one drunk driver and hunt second who fled scene
SIX people including three children have been killed in two separate road accidents in Seine-et-Marne.
In the first, a mother, a two-year-old girl and the mother’s uncle were killed when a drunk driver crashed into a bus shelter in Chelles (Seine-et-Marne). The crash left the girl’s father severely injured.
The driver had already been banned for driving while drunk and was arrested at the scene at the Sciences roundabout. He was too drunk to flee or to speak to police. His passenger, his 21-year-old daughter, was also hurt. He faces 20 years in prison as a repeat offender.
The second crash came on the RN4 at Ozoir-la-Ferrière last night after a 4x4 was hit from behind by another car and crashed into a tree. A woman and two children were killed instantly and two men were injured. A motorcyclist was also hurt in the aftermath of the crash.
Police are searching for the driver of the other car involved. The Seat Ibiza was reportedly locked and empty when they reached the scene.
