SNCF say strike impact is limited
Most unions postpone action but walkout by Sud workers affecting some regional services.
TODAY’S rail strike is having a limited impact on services according to the SNCF.
Regional trains are the most affected and some TGV services have also been hit.
Most unions called off strike action at the end of last week but a strike by conductors’ union Sud has led to the cancellation of some trains.
On regional TER lines services are running at 60-70% of normal levels according to SNCF bosses.
On TGV trips that do not involve Paris, one in two trains is running.
Corail and Corail Intercités trains are reduced, particularly on the lines Lyon-Strasbourg, Lyon-Metz and Bordeaux-Marseille. There are no Corail Intercités services between Bordeaux and Lyon or Lyon and Nantes.
International lines the Eurostar (Paris-London) and Thalys (Paris-Brussels) are running normally.
Unions are still in discussions with the SNCF over renewed contracts with freight drivers that include more flexible hours.
