Sole traders deserve freedom

I was disappointed to see in your March edition the report on restrictions for new auto-entrpreneurs.

I worked as an artisan for more than 20 years here in France. When I first heard of the new sole trader scheme I thought at last someone had understood and done something for artisans but no, now they want to control it all again.
Why does the state have to always meddle in the lives of independent workers? These are the very people who can create employment if given the freedom to work – these people never strike and can’t afford to be ill. They choose to work. It is these people who create and keep the country turning by the huge taxes and contributions they pay.
So please, Mr Sarkozy, give your workers the freedom to work.
