Speeding biker caught by video

Police find lost video camera by roadside in which motorcyclist films himself breeching highway code 65 times over 38km

A MOTORCYCLIST who filmed himself speeding through the Midi-Pyrénées at up to 175kph has been caught by police – after he accidentally dropped the camera on the roadside by a police station.

Officers found the abandoned camera a few hundred metres from their base in Lauzerte in the Tarn-et-Garonne and watched the 25-year-old biker clock up 65 breaches of the highway code in just 38km.

He had set off from Montauban with the camera mounted on the bike and during his route to Lauzerte broke the speed limit 23 times - reaching a peak speed at one point of 177kph.

On his way back home, the camera fell off without the driver noticing. He retraced his route the following morning and police recognised him and arrested him.

According to La Dépêche, the bike has been confiscated and the biker is due to appear in court next month.
