Star Wars stamps on sale
La Poste marks release of new film with collectors stamps and special edition packaging
LA POSTE has issued a new set of Star Wars stamps and products to celebrate the release of the newest film in the saga Star Wars Episode VII – The Force Awakens, which comes out on December 16.
A set of four collector stamps, featuring characters Darth Vader, Yoda, C-3PO, R2-D2 and a stormtrooper are available for €4.50, and are valid for packages sent within France by Lettre Verte up to 20g.
La Poste has also produced special edition packaging, including a pre-stamped package that transforms into an origami X-Wing or R2-D2 (€3.50), and R2-D2 Colissimo packaging for post weighing up to 3kg (€10). Greetings cards are also available for €3.50.
La Poste have also introduced several digital features to the collection, such as an interactive stamp (€4.50) that connects to the free app Le Timbre Raconte (available on the App Store and Google Play) and allows customers to browse never-before-seen content about the film, profiles of new characters and photos.
You can also buy personalised Star Wars stamps (starting from €0.66) and post cards (starting from €2.49) online.
If you spend more than €7 on items from the collection, you receive a unique code that allows you to participate in La Poste’s competition to win one of ten pairs of tickets for a private showing of the film on Dec 16.
The limited edition products are available from almost 2000 post offices across the country, from postmen, through the online shop and at the Carré d’Encre shop in Paris’ ninth arrondissement (13 bis Rue de Mathurins).
