Storm, flood alert in 17 French departments
Seventeen departments have been placed on orange alert for storm, rain and flood in the north east of France and around the Massif Central, by the national weather forecaster, Météo-France.
Departments concerned are: Gard (30), Ardèche (07), Lozère (48), Aveyron (12), Cantal (15), Haute-Loire (43), Puy-de-Dôme (63), Jura (39), Doubs (25), Côte-d’Or (21), Territoire de Belfort (90), Haute-Saône (70), Haute Marne (52), Vosges (88), Meurthe-et-Moselle (54), Meuse (55), Moselle (57).
The alert is on until tomorrow, Saturday 13, 6:00.
Strong winds are also expected; storms are expected to weaken in the night.
The Cèze, the Gardon and the Haut-Tarn rivers are flooded.
Météo-France asks everyone to remain vigilant if travelling and driving, avoid walking in the forest or in the mountains, and protect objects that could be damaged or moved by the wind.
