The weather warning is for strong rains, floods, avalanches and winds and will mainly affect the north and east of the country

Météo France has placed 13 departments on orange weather warning for Friday and Saturday for various phenomena including avalanches and flooding.
Orange alert means “be very vigilant”.
Orange alert for rain-flooding: Isère, Savoie, Haute-Savoie, Ain, Jura, Doubs
Orange alert for floods: Ain, Jura, Doubs, Haut-Saône, Vosges, Meurthe et Moselle, Pas-de-Calais
Orange alert for avalanches: The Alps in Haute-Provence, Isère, Savoie, Haute-Savoie
Orange alert for wind: The two departments of Corsica

The weather service state that there would be a continuation of “heavy rain and snow-melt over the northern Alps, Jura and Vosges, accompanied by a risk of floods and a significant risk of avalanches until the end of next week”.
Tempête Justine
Storm Justine is also set to hit France today (January 29), leading to strong winds in the southwest of the country tomorrow.
“On Saturday, there is a risk of a strong gale in the South-West which will generate strong waves combined with high tides,” Météo France stated.
