Suicide man falls on to woman
Drama in pedestrian street as man jumps from window and lands on passerby
A MAN who tried to commit suicide by throwing himself out of a window has been saved after landing on a woman on the street below.
The 49-year-old man, who had tried to kill himself several times previously, had jumped from the second-floor of his apartment in a pedestrian street in the centre of Verdun, Meuse.
He and the 36-year-old victim, from Dugny-sur-Meuse, were both taken to hospital and were said to be in a stable condition. The man was knocked out in the fall and the woman suffered spinal injuries.
Two nurses sitting in a nearby café saw the incident and gave immediate first aid to both victims.
