The French Paper stops publication
No August issue for monthly English-language newspaper, which has written to subscribers offering refund
ENGLISH-language monthly newspaper, theFrenchPaper, has ceased publication and is not available on newsstands from this month.
The paper's publisher has written to subscribers informing them that the July issue was the last and is offering a refund for outstanding issues.
The French Paper was launched in June 2009 by Nicki Wade, formerly at British magazine group Emap, who moved to France in 2004.
Ms Wade wrote that the paper is no longer a viable proposition and told subscribers they will be refunded by cheque over the coming weeks, according to the number of issues outstanding.
It follows another recently launched publication, the French Week, which stopped publication after 23 weeks in print, stating they were unable to cover costs.
For readers wanting local news in English, the publishers of Connexion have recently launched two new publications for Brittany and Languedoc, bringing the total number of regional publications to four including those for the Dordogne and Normandy.
