Threat to French cuisine?
Support for banning a new McDonald’s restaurant in Marché Montorgueil, Paris
I read with interest the article by Jacques Boutault on banning a new McDonald’s restaurant in Marché Montorgueil, Paris (Comment, November). I support entirely his point of view.
We regularly visit France and find the many McDonald’s restaurants are slowly eroding the French way of life. I do admit to having lunch in French McDonald’s because of their more flexible eating hours but I do try to minimise this habit.
We live in the US and I agree that the brand does contribute to poor food habits and poor nutrition. Please McDonald’s: You have ruined the US cuisine experience, please don’t ruin that in France!
