Walkout hits Paris airports
Unions representing workers at Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports stage 24-hour strike in dispute over pay
TRAVELLERS heading to airports in Paris this afternoon and tomorrow are advised to check whether their flight plans will be affected by a 24-hour walkout.
Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport is expected to be worst affected by the strike by staff working for Aéroports de Paris, which is set to start at 12noon. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked airlines to reduce their flights by 20% at in and out of the hub airport tomorrow.
Flights out of Orly could also be hit, with fire crews expected to join the walkout.
Unions representing staff at the Aéroports de Paris, which - as well as Charles de Gaulle and Orly - operates 12 other airports in and around the capital, have called the strike in a dispute over pay.
Passengers can check the status of their flights by logging on to the Aéroports de Paris website.
