Wanted: woman to share my life
90-year-old puts up poster at the bottom of his garden as he says he is lonely and scared after death of wife
WANTED: woman 70-80 years old to share my life, with or without car… a simple poster at the bottom of his garden is a 90-year-old’s way of trying to get over the death of his wife just six months ago.
The sign has gone up in the garden of 90-year-old Roger-Marc Grenier in Libourne, Gironde, beside the Route de Saint-Émilion and he told Sud-Ouest that since his wife Simone died at the age of 91 he was alone and scared.
He said there would be no housework involved and the woman would, just like Simone, have her own bedroom.
One woman who answered his plea asked if he “still made love” and Roger-Marc said that wasn’t the aim. He just wanted to be able to talk to someone, to go out to the restaurant, to walk – just like he had done with Simone, who he had known since they were 18.
