Airport baggage warning
Make sure to keep an eye on your belongings
Paris airports are leading a campaign to warn passengers of the problems they cause if they ‘forget’ luggage.
Charles-de-Gaulle saw 1,030 ‘suspect package’ alerts in nine months of 2017 – up 80% from 2013 – delaying 400 flights with a 50 minute average delay, hitting 2,000 passengers each time plus knock-on costs to shops and businesses forced to close.
Airport managers say passengers dump cases when faced with baggage charges and warn of a €450 fine for those doing so.
