Biker is buried with his motorbike

Burial is first of its kind in France

A BIKER who was killed in a motorbike crash has been buried with his bike. It was a first in France.

Arnaud Migliorati, 46, was a keen biker and member of the FFMC motards’ federation. He was a regular at biking events across France and near his home town of Saint-Roch in Indre-et-Loire.

He was killed in an accident on Tours bypass and about 200 fellow bikers turned out for a cortège in his honour. They took the route he had taken and stopped for a short tribute at the accident spot.

Arnaud was a fan of MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi and Saint Roch mayor Alain Manceau had to give permission for the bike, a Yamaha R6 Rossi replica to be buried with him.
But he discovered that it was a first in France and there was no legislation covering it. He asked that the bike first be emptied of all oil and fuel to get a certificat de dépollution and ordered the grave to be deeper.
