Diagnostics for holiday rental
Is it necessary to supply the ‘diagnostic’ property check documents to provide a holiday rental? D.L.

Stricly speaking, yes, people renting out holiday accommodation are legally meant to supply the usual diagnostics that would apply to longer-term rentals, apart from the dossier de performance énérgetique (DPE) which concerns matters like energy consumption. They include: lead (for buildings built before 1949; diagnostic not more than six years old); asbestos (flats built before 1997; diagnostic should have been done since April 1 2013); and, if the property is in an area subject to natural and technological risks (less than six months old).
