Eurotunnel Frequent Traveller scheme resumes
Eurotunnel has resumed selling its popular Frequent Traveller tickets after a short break the operator says was forced on it by an extremely high level of bookings.
The scheme provides significant discounts when 10 or more off-peak tickets are bought.
A slightly more expensive ticket scheme, Flexiplus Frequent Travel, allows a Frequent Travel scheme holder to book peak-time crossings for a surcharge of either €20 or €30, the ability to share advantages with family and friends, a reduction in supplementary payments, and, before Covid-19 restrictions, gave access to a lounge waiting room.
“The scheme is very popular, especially with people who have second homes in France,” John Keefe, spokesman for Getlink, which operate Eurotunnel services, told The Connexion.
“Unfortunately we found that after travel restrictions were lifted, demand for bookings from Frequent Travel ticket holders was so high that we could not accommodate everyone.
“People all wanted to travel on the same trains and there just was not space, but now the situation has eased.”
People are able to buy Frequent Traveller and Frequent Traveller Flexiplus tickets from the website again.
Travel restrictions between France and the UK have now been lifted, although anyone travelling from France to the UK must still complete a Public Health Passenger Locator Form 48 hours before arriving in the UK.

For anyone driving between the countries using the Eurotunnel Le Shuttle service, a health declaration will also be required. A copy of this can be found here in English, and here in French.
A mask must also be worn in public spaces if travelling by ferry, Eurostar or by air, but not if travelling in your car using the Eurotunnel service.
