Tax situation in France different if I am Irish?
I was born in Northern Ireland and recently claimed Irish nationality as well as British. If I tell the tax office I’m Irish, will it affect the taxation of my UK government pension, which is currently taxed in the UK? P.J.
No, there will be no change, since government pensions are taxed in the country from which they emanate.
France has a particular way of including this in the tax calculation, so it is taken into account, but this is not dependent on the country that is paying the pension.
