This is a stamp series which came out in November 2016 and can be bought at post offices or via La Poste’s online boutique, stamped with a value of €0.70 each, which cost €5.50 for five – including a €2 donation to the Croix-Rouge charity.

It is known as the ‘Love collection’ and they were designed by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, a French-Moroccan fashion designer, known for his quirky and colourful clothes such as dresses decorated with cartoon characters, images from paintings or graffiti.

Watch out, however, if you want to use them, as from this month lettre verte postage has risen from €0.70 to €0.73, so you may need to add postage (post offices are able to supply ‘timbres de complément’ of one, five and ten centimes, if necessary).

La Poste also has a book of eight stamps just called the La Croix-Rouge française, with drawings depicting the charity’s work, which have permanent validity for lettre verte, which is also sold at a price including a €2 donation to the charity.

For these or other ‘beaux timbres’ (special collector’s editions), visit boutique.laposte.fr and use the search box (eg. with the words ‘timbre croix’).
