SNCF offering cut-price tickets

Travellers can take advantage of French train operator’s intercity ticket offer, which launches today

THOUSANDS of rail travellers in France are set to benefit from a special SNCF offer, in which 150,000 cut-price intercity tickets are up for grabs.

From today, until June 6, SNCF is offering intercity tickets from as little as €10 for day travel, and €40 for a second-class overnight sleeper. Tickets can be bought for travel from May 23 to June 26.

The offer covers more than 300 destinations from Paris and provincial cities including Bordeaux, Caen, Clermont-Ferrand, Deauville, Limoges , Marseille, Montpellier, Nice, Rouen, Toulouse and Troyes.

Anyone hoping to take advantage of the prices can pick up their tickets at railway stations, by phone on 3635 (0,34 € TTC/min, without any additional cost), at approved travel agencies, or via the SNCF website - which has an English-language section here.
