Bag of sweets from Carrefour recalled before Halloween
Sweets do not list full allergens and should not be handed out tomorrow night
A bag of sweets from French supermarket Carrefour has been recalled, with households encouraged to ensure they do not give them to Halloween trick-or-treaters.
The sweets, a bag of 120g Carrefour-branded ‘Bonbons saveur caramel sans sucres’, have been recalled due to the detection of potentially allergenic sulphites not listed on the packaging.
Bags were sold across France between June 5, 2026 and October 27, 2026 with the following information:
Barcode: 3560070184200
Lot Number: 6 142
Best-before date: May 31, 2027
Full information is found on the official Rappel Conso recall website.
While the sweets are safe for people without a sulphite allergy to consume, they can be hazardous for people suffering from these allergies.
If you have eaten one of the sweets and are suffering from allergic symptoms, you should immediately contact a doctor and tell them you consumed the sweets.
Check your cupboards to ensure you do not hand out the sweets to children knocking at doors as part of trick-or-treat for Halloween.
Packets can be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund, and a free helpline is available at (+33) 805 90 80 70.
