Banks called to account
Readers finding it difficult to open a bank account in the UK may be interested to hear I have managed to do so.
I had been trying for ages, largely with no reply from the banks, although none actually refused when I applied – just didn’t call back.
I’m happy to report there’s no such difficulty with Santander: downloaded the form, applied by post for EU Basic Current Account. No hassle, job done, helpful on the ‘phone etc.
