Temperatures will be below the seasonal average
The weather is set to grow colder across France this weekend (December 9-11), with temperatures sitting around 0C, below seasonal averages.
On Sunday, snow is expected in the north and the west of the country.
Some 20 departments in the north and east of France are already under a yellow Météo France warning for snow and black ice, and Ain and Haute-Savoie are under an orange alert.

In the northern Alps, precipitation is expected to fall as snow from 900m, while in the south it will fall above 1800m from today (December 9).
In the south, the temperatures are currently relatively mild, with 7C predicted in Toulouse and 14C in Marseille this morning and 10C in Biarritz and 13C in Nice this afternoon. However, in more northern areas such as Nantes and Rouen, it will not rise above 3C.
Temperatures are then expected to get colder tomorrow and Sunday, with predictions putting them 3.4C below seasonal averages. On Saturday, it is expected to be -3C in Nantes, 0C in Belfort and Bordeaux. In the afternoon, it should reach 3C in Paris and 6C in Brest.
On Sunday, snow is expected from Pas-de-Calais down to Pays de la Loire. In the south, meanwhile, Corsica will see heavy rain.
In Toulouse and Alençon, morning temperatures of 0C are forecast, while in Lyon and Reims it should not get above 1C in the afternoon.
