Citroen, Peugeot, Opel: cars recalled over high emissions in France
Owners are told to contact their dealership

Several cars are being recalled in France due to emissions faults with owners of these vehicles told to contact their dealership.
The RappelConso site - a government platform for reporting product alerts and recalls - has issued a recall for these cars as they could emit gas emissions in excess of regulatory limits.
In particular they could emit too much nitrogen oxide, a gas that is harmful to the environment, said RappelConso.
The vehicles concerned include several brands such as DS, Citroën, Peugeot and Opel.
More specifically the car models being recalled are:
-
The Citroën C3. Barcode: e2*2007/46*0003*70-72 and e2*2007/46*0060*36-38
-

Harmful gas
These cars are being recalled due to an error in the calibration software of the electronic engine control unit (ECU).
“An incorrect value may be given when the data is processed by the vehicle and this can result in nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions that are above regulatory limits,” RappelConso states.
This is problematic as excessive NOx emissions pose a risk to the environment, it adds.
RappelConso advises individuals who own these cars to contact their car dealership.
