Lucky French lottery player scoops second €1m jackpot

Player from Haute-Savoie defies incredible odds to win €1million for the second time in 18 months on EuroMillions-linked My Million draw

One lucky lottery player has defied mind-boggling odds to claim a €1million My Million lottery jackpot for the second time in 18 months.

Mathematicians have estimated that the odds against winning the prize twice are one in 16 trillion - but one unnamed punter Haute-Savoie from last month did just that, after bagging the jackpot for the first time in November 2016.

Players from 12 countries who enter the EuroMillions draw on Tuesdays and Fridays, where jackpots can rise to more than €100million, are automatically entered for the smaller My Million draw. A series of randomly assigned numbers are included on their tickets.

The odds of winning one My Million jackpot is reportedly one in 19 million, while the chances of winning a single EuroMillions draw is one in 150 million.
