If you are planning a BBQ in France this week, be careful which sausages you use.
Merguez sausages sold around France in Carrefour shops have been recalled due to a risk of salmonella.

The sausages have been on shelves since June 7 and have an expiry date of June 13. The recall is in place until June 29.
People who have bought them are advised not to eat them and to return to the shop where they bought them to claim their money back.

Salmonella can cause diarrhoea, fever and stomach cramps. Symptoms usually begin six hours to six days after infection and last four to seven days.
