Cheese, oil: food products recalled this week in France
People who bought either product are warned not to consume them due to listeria and allergen risks
Cheese and oil products are being recalled to supermarkets in France this week over allergen and potential listeria concerns.
Sesame oil
Sesame oil bottles are being recalled to Auchan stores across France because they may contain traces of allergens which are not listed among their ingredients.
The product in question is the 250ml Auchan own-brand sesame oil, sold between March 25 and June 2.
The recall concerns two batches of the oil, with the GTIN codes:
-
3596710330645, batch 3033 (expiry date October 20, 2023)
-
3596710330645, batch 2858 (expiry date September 18, 2023)
People who bought the oil and who may be affected by the presence of the unlisted allergens – which are not outlined in the alert – should take the product back to the shop for a refund.
The recall procedure will end on July 2.
Further information can be found on the government alert service Rappel Conso.
Cheese
Saint-Nectaire Fermier cheese is being recalled across France because of a listeria risk.
The recall concerns items from the Dischamp brand.
The batches in question are:
-
GTIN 3151820423597 batch D21020011 (expiry date between June 27 and July 4)
-
GTIN 3151820445032 batch D21020011 (expiry date July 1)
-
GTIN 3151820423931 batch D21020011 (expiry date June 30)
Anyone who bought these products should not consume them, and should instead throw it away or call 06 09 01 06 36 for assistance.
Listeria causes the listeriosis infection, which can be especially dangerous to pregnant women and elderly people. Its incubation period can last up to two months.
If you have consumed a cheese product included in the recall and later experience a fever, with or without a headache and muscle aches, you should go to your GP and tell them about the recall.
Further information can be found on the Rappel Conso website.
