129 dead in Paris terror attack

At least 120 have been killed in a series of terror attacks in Paris and residents have been told to stay home

FRANCE has declared a state emergency and tightened its borders after 128 people were killed and 99 critically injured in co-ordinated terror attacks in Paris on Friday night.

Gunmen and suicide bombers attacked several locations in the east of the capital and three explosions were heard at Stade de France were France were playing Germany in a friendly football international.

Gunmen attacked the Bataclan music venue shooting people in the foyer and then entered the building and killed at least 80 people before taking hostages. Police stormed the building to end the siege.

Paris residents are advised to stay at home. Around 1,500 military personnel are being deployed across the city. Metro and bus lines through the 10th and 11th arrondissements are not running. Public spaces in Paris - such as markets, museums and libraries - will be closed on Saturday

Three sites in the 11th arrondissement were targeted directly, the Le Petit Cambodge restaurant, the nearby Carillon bar and the Bataclan concert venue where a heavy metal band were playing.

The procureur de Paris said all the attackers been killed.

American Airlines has suspended all flights to Paris - President Obama called the attacks "an attack on all humanity". He added "No religion is responsible, people are responsible."

Eurostar says services will still run on Saturday, despite controls at the French border. For those who no longer wish to travel today you can obtain a free exchange. The French foreign ministry says airports will remain open, and flights and train services will continue.
