Baby death under investigation
The death of a baby following a medical error at a hospital in the Paris area is being investigated.
Investigations into the death of a baby after a hospital error were opened on Sunday in the Ile-de-France.
The parents of six-month-year-old Louis-Joseph who died at the Hôpital Necker in Paris after a mistake in the regulating of a drip at a hospital in Yvelines made a formal accusation of “not assisting a person in danger.”
The couple, who are from Val-de-Marne, reported the incident to the police in the town of Kremlin-Bicêtre on Saturday.
Both legal and administrative investigations are now under way into the incident.
An autopsy is expected to be carried out this morning to find out the exact causes of the baby’s death.
Louis-Joseph had been at the Bullion pediatric hospital in Yvelines since September, waiting for an intestine transplant. He died on Friday following an error made the day before by a nurse and a pediatric assistant.
This new tragedy comes less than two weeks after the death of three-year-old Yliès at the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul hospital in Paris, who was administered the wrong drug by a nurse.
