Chalet from France’s Oscar favourite Anatomy of a Fall is on Airbnb
Film fans can stay the night in the chalet, immortalised in one of the year’s biggest French films
Cinephiles can get a unique perspective on one of this year’s most exciting Oscar hopefuls by staying in the chalet at the heart of French drama Anatomy of a Fall, which is available to rent on Airbnb.
Anatomy of a Fall (Anatomie d’une chute in French), directed by French filmmaker Justine Triet, won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and took home six César awards, the French equivalent of the Oscars.
This Sunday, March 10, the film will compete in five Oscar categories including Best Film, Best Director and Best Actress for its German star, Sandra Hüller.
The chalet is part of a converted farm in the village of Villarembert, at 1,400m above sea level, in the Savoie, close to the Le Corbier ski resort.
A duplex apartment on the ground floor, complete with private terrace, is available to rent from €90 a night. It can host four people. The Airbnb advert touts the chalet’s “authentic charm” and “cosy” atmosphere.
Anatomy of a Fall revolves around whether a Frenchman, played by Samuel Theis, fell from an upstairs window in the chalet, or was pushed by his wife, played by Hüller. It charts her journey through the police investigation up to the court case, where she must plead her innocence.
Production took place at the chalet during the spring of 2022.
The infamous window is no longer visible, having been added and later removed by production, Le Figaro reports.

The chalet’s owner told Le Figaro that bookings had not increased since the release of the film as she did not mention the shooting in the rental advert.
“It is the chalet’s proximity to nature and the ski resorts which are selling points for holidaymakers more than the location of a film where someone dies,” she told the French daily.
