Clean or teach for best chance of job
Government study identifies biggest growth areas for employment by 2022 with home help and cleaning among most promising
CLEANERS and teachers are among the biggest growth areas for employment in France according to new government research which claims that up to 212,000 new jobs a year across all industries could be created by 2022.
The study, commissioned by France's labour ministry, predicts that an end to rising unemployment is in sight, as widespread departures for retirement mean new jobs will need to be created to fill gaps.
France's economy has lost 100,000 jobs a year on average since the economic crisis around 2007.
The study suggests that cleaning staff will see the biggest churn, with the highest number of current workers nearing retirement age. Up to 387,000 of these roles could be created within seven years.
Home help is identified as another big growth area, with growing demand for assistance from an ageing population.
Teaching is another sector with a high number of staff near retirement age. The report estimates 300,000 jobs will become available in the education sector by 2022.
Another 244,000 roles in accountancy and finance could also become available - with the researchers predicting that businesses will more than ever need professional help to manage their affairs.
