Experts to mix a perfume to sum up… Nantes
Three perfume creators are making a perfume to sum up the smell of Nantes.
The experts, who are visiting from Grasse which is internationally known for its perfume industry, have spent time in the town to find inspiration from the different places and streets.
They have now until June to create the town’s perfume.
Afterwards, the residents of Nantes will have to vote for their favourite between the three different perfumes created.
The winner will be introduced on September 3, during the festival Voyage à Nantes, and the 50ml bottle of perfume will be commercialised by the end of 2020.
The project is an idea of the founder of Voyage à Nantes festival, Jean Blaise. He said: “We want it to be a real perfume, not an eau de toilette. A quality perfume that is accessible to everyone. The idea of the Voyage à Nantes is how, through in situ creations, we feel this very special town. For me, the town is a person. That's why I've wanted to create a perfume for a long time. Creating a perfume is a cultural act.”
He added that the price of this unique perfume would be between €20-€50.
