Several popular UK-France flights look to be among those axed by low-cost carrier Ryanair this winter as part of a reduction in service to / from France, with Béziers airport in particular impacted.
Following a recent article about Ryanair pulling its winter routes from three French airports – Brive, Bergerac, and Strasbourg – several Connexion readers have contacted us regarding the status of Béziers airport.
Tickets for all but one Ryanair route from the airport are unavailable from either the end of September or October, including those that have previously been year-round services.
This includes all UK flights (Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester, and London Luton and Stansted airports), as well flights to Germany (Weeze), Sweden (Stockholm) and Ireland (Shannon) and a domestic route to Paris-Beauvais.
The last Béziers-Luton flight is scheduled for October 23. Previously the route was year-round, alongside some of the other non-UK destinations.
Tickets are not available for purchase for 2026 flights for any of the routes above via Ryanair’s website.
The only remaining winter service to Béziers from the airline is a twice-weekly service to Charleroi in Belgium, with tickets available to purchase until March 2026.
Ryanair reduces services
When contacted by The Connexion, Ryanair referred us to a July 30 press release outlining the planned reduction in service to France this winter, largely due to an increase in airline taxes in France.
The reduction outlines an end to services to the three airports already mentioned, as well as a 27% reduction to other French regional airports (although it does not name the routes impacted).
Overall, 25 routes were to be axed.
The airline said it had “nothing further to add,” regarding the planned reductions and did not give an official list of routes that were cut as part of the measure.
Some readers have received emails from Béziers airport following queries about the end of the services, and have been informed Ryanair has suspended UK flights to/from the airport. The Connexion has contacted the airport.
Routes from several other airlines are also shelved for the winter, although some of these are only seasonal routes and are expected to return for the summer 2026 period.
In a recent interview with The Connexion, the president of the Dordogne Chamber of Commerce that operates Bergerac airport said it expects the low-cost carrier will resume services in the summer 2026 period after the winter pause.
Airlines announce new or returning routes periodically throughout the year.
