Heatwave on its way...
Temperatures of up to 38C forecast in parts of France from Sunday
The mercury is set to rise, with temperatures predicted to reach 38C in some parts of the country over the course of the week.
There will be some cloud over the regions of Normandy and Brittany on Sunday but the rest of the country will experience bright sunshine as well as high temperatures.
From Sunday, Paris will see highs of 30C. In the south-west, especially around Bordeaux, Provence and between Var and Gard, it could reach up to 38C.
The heatwave, which will see a lull at the beginning of the week before setting temperatures soaring around Wednesday and Thursday, will aggravate already dry weather conditions in some areas. However, the risk of fire will stay relatively low due to light winds.
While it will remain warm, showers and thunder storms caused by high pressure are forecast over much of France on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The warm weather will last for up to 15 days.
