Hospital trashed by partygoers
Unauthorised party to mark transfer of A&E ward to new hospital turns into carnage
POLICE have been called in to investigate a farewell party at a Nice hospital, after revellers caused thousands of euros of damage.
Beds were trashed, toilets ripped from the wall and equipment smashed when staff and outsiders gathered to mark the closure of Saint-Roch hospital last week.
The party came as the last major department, the accident and emergency ward, was transferred to the new Pasteur 2 hospital complex nearby.
Management had not authorised the get-together and an investigation is under way to determine who was responsible.

Saint-Roch's last remaining department, the dentistry ward, is due to move out within the year and the building will be turned into... a police station.
