Ile-de-France traffic jam record
Tail backs in and around the capital reach a new record of 483km thanks to weather and work
THE Ile-de-France has set a new record for congestion in the region this morning, with a combined total of 483km of traffic jams.
The unenviable record was noted by the region’s traffic monitoring group Sytadin when congestion peaked at 9.02am
A combination of poor weather and one of the busy days of the week was behind the jams.
The previous record of 450km was set almost exactly a year ago on October 7, 2014.
Average rush hour jams fluctuate between 210km to 310km across the region on weekday mornings and anything above 375km is considered exceptional.
