Income tax bills starting to arrive
If you're a French resident you should receive your statement by mid-September
INCOME tax bills are starting to land in letterboxes across France, with the bulk of taxpayers knowing by early September how much they owe - or are owed back.
If you filed your income tax return online, you will receive an email informing you when your statement is available to view in your secure part of the website.
For paper tax returns, the avis d'imposition arrives by post.
If the tax office finds you have no tax to pay, or you are due a refund, you should receive notification no later than September 5. For online returns, the statement should already be available to view.
Bills for taxpayers who have not been paying monthly instalments should all arrive by August 25 - and, again, should now be available online.
If you have been making a monthly payment in advance for this year's tax, you should receive a statement sometime before September 9 setting out what is left to be paid. The online version should be ready next week.
Tax bills for non-residents may arrive later in September, or even October, depending on your situation.
