Gendarmes and Belgian police have broken up a ring of eight Albanian jewellery thieves involved in 400 burglaries in France.

They took the stolen goods to Belgium to be melted down and resold.
A burglary in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Yvelines, Ile-de-France, started a trail that led police to others over the past year in Centre-Val-de-Loire, Champagne-Ardenne, Bourgogne and Rhône-Alpes.
They recovered 50kg of jewels.
