Taxi travel to and from airports in France are now likely to cost more than they did last month or last year, as a new decree authorises the maximum price per kilometre at an increased amount of €1.29.

A summary of the decree, dated January 20, 2025, has been published on the Service Public website.

What are the new rates?

The decree authorises:

  • A variation in the standard taxi fare of no more than 1.71%

  • The maximum price per kilometre travelled at €1.29.

It also states that the minimum fare will remain €8 for all taxis (both Parisian and non-Parisian).

In addition, taxi fares will be capped at:

  • €4.48 for pick-up

  • €1.29 per kilometre travelled

  • €41.76 for the maximum hourly fare.

What about for Paris taxis?

For Paris taxis, booking supplements remain the same as in 2024. These are:

  • €4 for immediate bookings

  • €7 for advance bookings

For groups of five people (or more) a passenger supplement of €5.50 may be applied to Paris taxi journeys.

There are also fixed fares for direct journeys by Paris taxis between:

  • Paris and Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle (in both directions)

  • Paris and Orly (in both directions)

The 2025 fixed fares are as follows:

  • €56 between Paris - Charles-de-Gaulle airport and Paris Rive Droite

  • €65 between Paris - Charles-de-Gaulle airport and Paris Rive Gauche

  • €45 between Paris-Orly airport and Paris Rive Droite

  • €36 between Paris-Orly airport and Paris Rive Gauche.

What about other major French airports?

Some airports elsewhere also have flat fares but not all have been changed.

For example, flat fares for trips to and from Nice Côte d'Azur airport remain the same as in 2024.

They are:

  • €85 between Nice Côte d'Azur airport and Cannes

  • €95 between Nice Côte d'Azur airport and Monaco

  • €32 between Nice Côte d'Azur airport and Nice-centre

  • €72 between Nice Côte d'Azur-Cap d'Antibes / Juan-les-Pins.

For trips to and from Toulouse-Blagnac airport, fares are:

  • A range of flat-rate fares of between €15 and €47 (depending on the city zone). For example, the rate is €26 for Toulouse zone 2, and €37 for zone 3.

The decree sets out exact parameters detailing the zones in Toulouse.

It also states a minimum rate for pre-booking supplements, e.g. For trips to and from Lyon-Saint Exupéry, the rate is €2 if booked immediately, or €4 if booked in advance.

Outside of Paris, for groups of five people (or more), a passenger supplement of €4 may be applied, while the excess baggage charge is €2 per bag.

How will I know if my taxi is charging me 2025 fares?

Once the taxi driver has switched to the new rates, a green letter ‘N’ will be affixed to the dial of the taximeter, to clearly show passengers that the new fares have come into force.
