THE FRENCH classic novella Le Petit Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is to be turned into a TV series, starting this Christmas on France 3.

Published in 1943 and telling of the blond boy who leaves his asteroid to find wisdom, the Little Prince has sold 80 million copies.

Now it will be turned into a 52-episode animated series and an animated 3D film aimed at children. It will have strong environmental themes as he bids to save planets.
